Postpartum Healing
Besides supporting prenatal practice members and other women, Dr. Kelly wants to walk with women as they transition into motherhood. She is committed to “standing in the gap” during this tender and critical time in a woman’s life. “Throughout pregnancy, mothers have many OBGYN visits that become more frequent toward delivery. After delivery, the mother is typically seen at 2 weeks and 6 weeks before being released from care” she says. “This should not be standard care for the mother.” In the postpartum period there is often a lot of attention placed on the baby, which can sometimes leave mothers feeling disconnected. This is why Dr. Kelly feels the postpartum period is so important. She credits the women who took care of her when she was recovering. “I am inspired to do what I do because of the women who helped me. I want to pay that forward by walking with women as they go through the motherhood transition.”
Empowering Practice Members
Dr. Kelly wants her practice members to feel empowered to make their own decisions for their health. She is committed to ensuring that her practice members understand every aspect of their care. She doesn’t pressure any of her practice members and will always be honest. She is already known in Newnan as an expert in women’s health and family wellness! Dr. Kelly has adjusted practice members of all ages and has seen the positive effects in their lives. She was even able to support a young child who was having many seizures.
